Feast on Nakovana is held at the beginning of the second week in September for the Feast of Our Lady, it is certainly one of the most interesting festivities at the Peninsula.
On the day of the feast there is a special atmosphere in Nakovana, because on that day the abandoned village of Nakovana (Lower Nakovana) turns into the center of the Peljesac as once upon a time, and it is visited by more than 1,000 people.
During the whole day visitors have lots of interesting things to see; a tour around the old stone houses and stories about the culture and history of Nakovana, the revival of old customs like making a homemade bread, grilling the lambs and fish. In the afternoon there is a Holy Mass, and in the evening main party with live music.
